I looked at Sandy, watching as he tried to crack an egg with both hands, completely unaware of the weight of this conversation.
Then, in a voice so soft I barely recognized it as mine, I whispered,
"I never stopped."
Mercy’s face softened, her teasing gone.
She reached out, squeezing my hand gently.
"Then what are you so afraid of?" she asked.
I let out a shaky laugh, blinking away the burning feeling in my chest.
"Everything." I said.
Once breakfast was ready, Mercy and I set the table.
Kyle and Desmond were already waiting, chatting about something quietly.
