The hum of conversations and clinking silverware filled the restaurant as I moved between tables, balancing a tray with practiced ease.
It had been weeks since I started working here.
Weeks of laying low, gathering information, carefully planting the seeds of sabotage without drawing attention.
And it worked.
Until today.
Because today, my past finally caught up with me.
The restaurant was buzzing with the usual midday rush. The air smelled of freshly baked bread, sizzling garlic, and the rich aroma of coffee brewing in the background.
Servers weaved between tables, balancing plates and trays, while customers engaged in quiet conversations or laughter.
