‘Dammit, Jack!’

I stared across the table at the smirking face of Jack Hamilton, my blood pressure rising. My client and I had been working for months to reach a settlement with Jack’s client over a breach of contract claim. We had been working for months mainly because opposing counsel, the jackass currently smirking at me, was an arrogant asshole who apparently did not give a damn about the best interests of his client, as evidenced by his rejection of my latest proposal.
