The sun was really bright and it came in through the curtains while I stood at the kitchen counter stirring coffee I’d already forgotten about, my mind somewhere else entirely even though Kross was behind me, close enough that I could feel the warmth of his body, his hand settling on my waist, a little space away from myself and yet he never wandered past, his touch was so gentle, and familiar in a way that still caught me off guard sometimes.
