When I opened my eyes, everything looked blurry at first, my eyes burning. I woke up with my body aching in ways that were familiar and yet so… different.

But the thing is, when my muscles throbbed, every nerve in my body hummed with the memory of him.

I gasped the moment I realized I wasn't alone, and for a long second, I couldn't remember where I was; my brain felt a bit hazy. The room still smelled of him… that warm but sharp scent… it was heavy enough to make my stomach tighten and my toes curl.
