I might have told Sade I was here for business, but I knew, as much as she did, that it was a lie. I came into her office a few times after that, and today was no exception. I met her in the hallway, a few feet from her office. She paused and looked at me, didn’t raise her voice when she spoke, and somehow that made it worse.
“You should leave me alone,” she said, standing across from me with her arms folded like she was holding herself together by force. “You left me when I needed you the most, and you don’t get to come back now...
