Ava's POV

 

As I walked into the house, William looked up from where he was sitting at the kitchen table. I walked over to him, feeling the energy and adrenaline still coursing through my veins from my hunt. I held out the piece of paper I had collected from the man, and he took it from me, studying it carefully.

 

"Bella sent this man to follow me," I said, my voice firm. "But I took care of him."

 

William looked up at me, his eyes wide with shock. "You did what?"

 

"I killed him," I said simply, my heart still pounding.

 

William's face fell, and he took a deep breath....
