The guard placed the food in front of me before leaving.

What were they plotting this time? To poison me or what?!

I couldn't help but devour the whole plate. I felt relieved and restored after eating. I then remembered what it felt like being a living thing.

Just as my mood lit up, I remembered that might be the last meal I'll be having. Yeah, I almost forgot I was going to be a sacrifice.

A sacrifice to save someone I loved but didn't love me back. Someone I just told I love him but didn't say it back.
