Eleanora’s POV
I couldn’t sleep.
The moon was full, yet clouded. Our daughter stirred in her cradle, restless and whimpering. Her silver eyes flashed open just as the pendant around my neck seared against my skin.
I gasped, clutching it.
A vision bloomed behind my eyes, ice, cracked and bleeding light. Red eyes in the dark. Gannon falling. Nova screaming.
Then the voice, a whisper like a death knell:
“The Hollow One is waking.”
I staggered to the mirror, gripping the edge of the frame as I steadied my breath. The pendant continued to burn, reacting not to injury… but to calling.
They were in danger.
