"Don't tell me you are thinking about Peyton's visit?" Nova asked after she came to sit beside me.

After she asked Peyton to leave, she said she had woken up earlier. And when she didn't see me, she thought I was still talking to Gannon, but then she came downstairs and saw that I was speaking with Peyton.

"Weren't we a bit too harsh? What if she meant the words she said?"

Nova burst out laughing, but when she saw there was no change in my countenance, she stopped. Her eyes crinkled in disbelief.

"Do you really think that Peyton has changed? I'm surprised she managed to fool you...
