The tension in the air sucked the life out of my lungs, my heart grew stricter with realization of what I heard a few minutes ago.

“Why aren’t you in your chamber?” He broke the silence.

“Don’t speak to me in that tone. I heard everything correctly Fidelis revealed the truth of our relationship to your father. Is that it?”

“He's the original mate of Rosalia.” His teeth screeched on edge.
