Amber had slept deeply and peacefully for the first time in days, undisturbed by the usual worries and heartache. Stefan's warmth had acted as a comforting balm, easing the tension she had been carrying.
She stirred, stretching lazily, and reached out instinctively to the other side of the bed. Her hand met empty sheets. Amber sat up, momentarily disoriented, and noticed a neatly folded note on Stefan's pillow. She picked it up, her heart fluttering slightly as she read his familiar handwriting.
