I whisper it like a curse and a promise.

My fingers tighten around the edge of the desk as I stare down the last line of the acquisition contract. It's early…too early for anyone sane to be thinking about eight-figure deals. But I haven’t slept. And I don’t need rest when revenge tastes this close.

The skyline outside my window glows pale orange, the city yawning behind clouds that still look half-asleep. But inside this office, I’m fire. Ruthless, and very much wide awake.
