Adele turns her head slowly, intentionally. She’s lounging like she owns the place, wearing silk and smugness. Her legs are crossed, and her lips are glossy red. Her tone slithers as she speaks. “Is that your new motivational quote, Blair? I’d expect something a bit more original from you.”
Blair steps fully into the private corporate lounge. She tosses an envelope onto the glass table between them. It slides to a stop against Adele’s expensive purse.
“That,” Blair says, “is a copy of the building logs. The ones from that penthouse...
