“You want me to do what?”
Reo’s voice doesn’t rise, but his jaw locks the way it always does when something hits too close. He leans back in the stiff, charcoal-gray chair, with his arms folded like a barricade. Dr. Nia Harland doesn’t even blink.
“Write a letter,” she says. “To your past self. And forgive him.”
Reo scoffs. “Forgive him? That guy nearly ruined everything.”
Dr. Harland crosses one leg over the other. She wears a black blouse with sharp cuffs and even sharper eyes. “And yet that same guy is here, trying not to ruin the future.”
