Blair says it like she’s just realizing it.
Reo doesn’t flinch. He sits at the edge of the desk, notebook open, pen resting across his thigh. The room is quiet, but not empty. It’s filled with the faint aura of healing. The kind that doesn’t beg for applause.
“I’m not,” he says, without looking up. “I’m not trying to win anything.”
He writes another line in his journal. His handwriting is a little cleaner than it was three months ago. Less pressure. Fewer angry lines. Just truth now. Just pieces of him, scattered but soft.
