Veronica's POV 

I was about to gurgle everything she told me to him. But I reminded myself of how he wanted an excuse to send her away. 

“It's nothing. She just came to say hi.” I lied.

“And you bought that? "The look on her face wasn't friendly.” Martins emphasized further. 

I half-smiled. “I don't know what you are talking about." That aside, we should start going home,” I said to him. 

He grunted in disbelief. “Let's go home.” Martins finally let the word out of his lips and we both walked out of the event center. 

Martins opened the door of the car and I stepped inside of it....
