“Did I mess the whole thing up?” His voice came out calm and soft. He wore a concerned gaze while a few breaths puffed out his nostrils. 

Hearing his question, I gazed at his eyes with a sigh. “Are you sure you want to hear about your performance?” I asked him, because the anger in him hadn't dissolved yet.

He breathed out and dangled his head. Then he took another sip of wine. 

“Give your nerves some time to relax. "I can excuse you if you don't want me here,” I said with care in my tone.
