Darwin’s POV

After I dropped Veronica off at her company, I didn’t even bother going to mine. There was no need when I knew I would get no work done at all.

I just put a call across to my COO informing him that I wouldn’t be coming in to work anymore, and instructing him to oversee the company in my stead and report back to me. I was confident he knew what to do.

My thoughts went back to Veronica again. I wasn’t sure what exactly it was, but there was something about her that had a certain pull to me. Her Beauty? Brains? Resilience? Maybe everything.
