Five o’clock came and Sonja appeared right on time. I introduced her to Alyssa, and the two shook hands, then we began to wait for Darwin.

At ten minutes past the hour, Sonja spoke, “I think we could just begin without him, and fill him in when he gets here. I really do have somewhere to be right after.”
