POV: Ryker

The clearing the Mage chose sits on the far side of the northern grounds, far enough from the main buildings that a mistake will not bring the entire compound running. The grass is short. The trees form a loose circle. Morning light filters through the leaves in shifting patterns. It looks peaceful. I know better than to trust the look of it.
