“They haven't seen you around the Moon Shadow. You didn't go to your other job,” Zach says.

I hold the phone to my ear, wondering who is ‘they.’ Did he send someone to look for me or did he call the Chemist?

"I'm in the clinic," I reply.

"What clinic? What happened?"

I have no intention of telling him I fainted. He doesn't have to know my personal business. Plus, I’m feeling fine now.

“Kerris?”

"I'm about to leave the towers."

"Stay there. Milo will come get you." He hangs up before I can protest.
