The director looks away from me, refocusing on his laptop screen.

So guilt isn’t the reason for his strange behavior. He knows.

Cold sweat breaks across my skin.

How could news spread this quickly? It's barely dawn. Either his Alpha told him, which is unlikely, or the story is already circulating through the pack local network. Maybe worse; it's on the Internet and the entire west coast has seen it.

"Thirty days," he mumbles, typing away on his keyboard. "I'll note it down and inform the boss."
