I jolted awake, panting and drenched in sweat, even though the room was cold. I'd been dreaming, no, trapped, in a nightmare where I was chained and thrown into a deep, dark hole. I could still feel the fear clawing at my chest.
I looked around and instantly knew I wasn’t in my house. The bed was familiar, too familiar. The air in the room carried that same heavy, oppressive feeling I remembered from years ago. A place that had once held me captive. My heart sank.
