Anxiety became my lot, and my heart was racing against my chest. I stood still, not wanting to defy Stacy. There was no telling what she could do with the gun in her possession.

 

Ares was as confused as I was. “You shouldn't be doing this, Stacy. You know you're only going to end... end up in jail if you do this."  The words slipped out of my mouth, my eyes batting incessantly.
