I watched as Emily walked away with Drake, and a surge of rage bubbled up inside me. How could he go back to her, after everything? After the Council explicitly warned him? My mind raced, frantically searching for a way to make sure he would stay with me forever. I couldn't let her have him—she didn’t deserve him.
