Amelia was still curled into a ball when I left to get our dinner in the kitchen. The only food we had was our lunch from the fast food we ordered.
I took the tray inside her room and shut the door slowly when a gasp came from her.
Growling, her eyes glowed golden, and the sword in her grip was aiming at me.
“Amelia, it’s me.” I held the food with one hand and flicked the light open.
She blew a breath and shut her eyes close, putting away the sword.
