Homecoming: It’ll be a good night

We attended homecoming, and things were okay. I say okay because if I learned anything when you think they’ll be great, you'd get smacked in the face.

I’m not a pessimist, but I learned things don’t always work out the way you expect them. I guess having time alone will show you the world differently.

Everyone already made their way to the dance. I waited on Major. Lo-and-behold, he didn’t show. Figures. I attended alone. That’s what I was familiar with doing. Even though I thought things were better, I would always end up being alone.

When I arrived, people were dancing....
