Shaun finished packing as I stood there. After he put the last item in the box, he turned to me.

“I guess this is it,” Shaun said.

“Yeah,” I mumbled.

“We talk about this, Pax. We’ll call and see each other when we can, but if we meet someone, the other can’t get mad,” Shaun reasoned.

“I know,” I agreed. I know I told Shaun we would see what happens, but it was a lie. I didn’t want him to meet anyone else.
