The next day, I awoke in bed alone. Grabbing my phone, I had several missed calls and texts from my family. Shit. I had gotten so caught up in the moment with Piper that I forgot to let my parents know where I was. I called them, and the minute Dad answered, I received an earful.

After he finished killing my eardrum, I told him what happened. It relieved him and made him happy for us until he mentioned a crucial detail.
