I relented and invited Sam over so we can work on the assignment together. We sat down on the couch, and Sam took out his notebook.

“Okay, so, what should our paper be?” I asked.

“I have an idea,” Sam said.

I looked at Sam.

“How about we write about how a parent interferes with their child’s relationship?” Sam asked.

I arched an eyebrow.

“Think about it. The story will have all the elements along with human emotion. It’s the criteria of the assignment,” Sam reasoned.
