The door was still shaking from the force that Marcus had used to slam the door. .

Poppy sat on the edge of the desk, her skirt crooked, hair wrecked, and she was staring at the door. The flush on her cheeks wasn't from pleasure anymore.

Ian straightened his cuffs, adjusted his clothes, glanced at the door Marcus had just slammed, then picked up his jacket and walked out pulling it shut quietly behind him.

Poppy looked at me.

"Daddy. What just happened?"

"Come here."

I crossed to her and lifted her off the desk. She came up automatically, arms around my neck, shinning those pretty eyes...
