A knock on the door pulled me from my daze. It creaked open and my secretary peeked her head in.
“Ma’am, the team from the furniture manufacturing house called. It seems like the workers are slacking again. You might need to visit.”
I let out a dramatic sigh, dragging my palm down my face. “God, I hate this cover-up business crap.”
She gave a polite smile, clearly used to my grumbling. "Sorry, ma'am."
