I pulled back gently from Nolan’s embrace, but he still held me in his arms. I looked up at him to search his face and tried to read his expression.

We locked eyes and I could see a different mix of emotions. My heart skipped a beat as his eyes darted down to my lips, and as if on impulse, I did the same too.
