Leo pulled the car up to the entrance of the ballroom and stepped out first. He moved to open Nolan’s door. Nolan stepped out, adjusting his cuffs before coming to the other side to open my door.

When he opened the door, he extended his hand toward me to hold. I took a deep breath and placed my hand in his. His grip was firm, warm, and steady as I stepped out of the car.

“You ready?” he asked, his voice low, almost intimate.

I straightened my shoulders and met his gaze. “Always.”
