The heavy, dark tension of the night seemed to evaporate the moment we stepped back inside the mansion. The medical team was already waiting in the foyer, but Lucien dismissed them with a sharp wave of his hand. He didn't want the white coats or the smelling salts, he only wanted the quiet of our room.
