The sun through the trees was just right this morning, sheared off white to gold where it weltered down into clearings of pack leads. There was a sense of urgency as I walked in to tell them the vision that shook me down to my bone and marrow. Aiden was next to me, his silent support all I had in the familiar faces of those gathered.
My lantern lit up, and Ethan, our fearless leader, nodded me on. His eyes display a blend of inquisitiveness and worry. “Hayley, please,” they repeated.
