Aiden's POV

As the dawn broke with promises of challenges, golden light slipped through the forest canopy and produced long shadows at an exuberantly fortified meeting location. The pack was alert, mosaic marbles of determination. In the light of dawn, weapons caught a glint, and the air buzzed with that excitement special to pre-battle readiness.

Kael returned, just as mysterious as his return from the medical bay. He threaded his way through the curious crowd with a calm assurance and sketched odd glances. Because, though there may have been skepticism to his claim, he carried himself with such a demeanor as if others dared not disobey him.
