The air inside my mother’s house always felt softer than anywhere else. It was as if time itself slowed down here, like the walls held a secret calm that stretched through every corner. The scent of lavender mixed with vanilla floated gently in the air. Even now, lying in one of the old bedrooms I hadn’t slept in since I was a teenager, I could almost hear the soft echoes of lullabies and whispered stories that had filled this house long ago.
