Slowly, we moved to sit on the edge of the bed. Our fingers stayed locked together, like two pieces of a puzzle that fit perfectly. The soft light from the city outside came through the window. It flickered gently, casting faint shadows on the walls. But even though the light was soft and quiet, my eyes could only see Lucian. His dark eyes were steady and calm. They looked right into mine as if they held a secret only I could understand.
