The morning light slowly crept into the room through the blinds that were only half closed. Thin stripes of soft sunlight stretched across the wooden floor like gentle fingers trying to wake the world. I lay still in the bed, feeling the warmth of the sheets wrapped around me. Lucian’s arms held me close, steady and strong, as if he was keeping me safe inside that quiet space. The silence between us was calm and peaceful.
