The room was quiet, filled with the soft hum of morning.
She was still asleep when I got out of bed. Siena lay on her side, facing the window. Her hand was curled gently near her cheek, her fingers relaxed. Her breath moved softly, slow and steady, her lips slightly parted. The early sun was just beginning to rise, and golden light slipped through the light curtains, creating soft patterns across her bare shoulder and the white sheet tangled around her.
I just stood there, watching her.
She looked so peaceful. So beautiful. But not in a way that was loud or perfect. It wasn’t about flawless...
