At first, there was nothing.
Just emptiness.
Not the kind of emptiness that comes with silence or a quiet room. This was deeper. Blacker. Heavier. It felt like the world had disappeared, like I had been dropped into the middle of a never-ending dark ocean, and I was sinking slowly into it, my body weightless but pulled down all the same.
