The ride back home was quiet, but it didn’t feel strange or awkward.

Roman had already drifted halfway into sleep in the backseat. His head rested softly on Siena’s lap, and his tiny hand was still holding on to the edge of my sleeve, like he didn’t want me to go anywhere just yet.
