On arrival Piet and David are greeted by an empty village, there is no sign of life anywhere in the area, except for a few curs rooting amongst the rubbish, looking for anything to eat, and the few goats that wonder in-between the hut. The cooking fires have been abandoned and the smell of burnt food drifts across on the still air.
“Isaac see where the people are; let them know we are here for the man-eater.”
“Okay Bwana Piet, maybe they hide in the forest.”
