A WEEK ON

ROSE POV

I sit in my hospital bed awaiting discharge.

Nervous about going home with Roman.

Uncertainty looms.

Suddenly, the door opens and Claire rushes in with tears streaming down her face.

"Mama!" Claire squeals excited.

We collide in a tight hug, tears flowing freely.

"I missed you so much, Mama!" Claire exclaims, sniffling.

I hold her close as my heart moves with geniuine excited.

"I missed you too, baby girl," I reply, smiling.

Claire pulls back wiping her nose on her sleeve.

"Are you okay, Mama?" Claire ask, concerned.

Big brown eyes looking up.

I nod.

"I'm fine, sweetie," I reassure

Claire's face lights up
