LIA’S POV

I thought I had a perfect plan. Or at least close to it. Derrick never was one to be out of his quarters by this time for no emergency reason. What was he doing here?

He flashed the big torchlight and I had to tilt my face from the blinding light.

“Who—” he was about to ask but abruptly stopped. Me and Carlos was yet to turn around. I could hear him approaching us.

“Lia, isn't this the time we run?” Carlos whispered.

“Turn around you two. Slowly,” Derrick ordered.

I was going to consider Carlos' suggestions but it was too late as Derrick was already behind us...
