The engagement party felt like it was closing in on us. Bianca and I could barely sit still after Alina’s cryptic warning earlier. She knew about our plan, and the look in her eyes said she was far from done with us. The idea of staying here, surrounded by people who might catch on to our plans, was unbearable.
