On the way to the grocery store, Alex decides to play some music on his phone since the silence between us has started to annoy me. When I realized that Alex doesn't like silence, I began humming along to whatever song he's playing. He smiles amusedly at me while shaking his head. He looks adorable when he does that, it makes my heart flutter.

About halfway through our trip to the grocery store, Alex reaches into his pocket and takes out a small box, opening it up to reveal a ring.

"Happy Valentine's Day, love," he says placing the ring on my finger and smiling.
