The two men were silent after his father had finished speaking, allowing him to continue talking. However, he didn't really feel like he needed to contribute to the conversation. What his father was telling him wasn't something that he hadn't already learned, or at least, had known for a few years now. His mother was the one who told him about all of this when he was little. After she gone, however, he never had any intention of asking about it anymore, which apparently his father hadn't expected.
